#Malaysian Danajamin Nasional has issued its inaugural RM500 million, tier-2 subordinated sukuk. It is part of a RM2 billion of senior and subordinated Sukuk Murabahah facility. The subordinated sukuk has a tenure of 10 years and is rated AA1 by RAM Rating Services and AA+ by the Malaysian Rating Corporation. The inaugural issue was oversubscribed, receiving a response of about RM800 million from a diverse range of investors. Danajamin CEO Mohamed Nazri Omar said that a total of 16 investors participated in the inaugural issuance and the sukuk achieved a yield of 4.80%. The issuance also sees Danajamin strengthening its regulatory capital level, enabling it to continue meeting its developmental mandate to stimulate the sukuk market.
In #Malaysia Danajamin Nasional is guaranteeing a 17-year sukuk murabahah programme amounting to RM300 million for Chellam Plantations. The first tranche of the programme amounting to RM150 million with a tenure of up to 17 years, was issued and subscribed last Friday. Funds from the sukuk issuance will support Chellam Plantations’ new planting in Kalimantan and expansion in Indonesia. Proceeds from the sukuk will also be used to refinance its outstanding borrowings and finance its capital expenditures. Joint lead arrangers of the transaction are RHB Investment Bank and OCBC Al-Amin Bank.
Danajamin Nasional Bhd has assured guarantees for sukuk and bond programmes worth RM5.54 billion. This includes the latest guarantee for the Islamic facilities of Bolton Bhd. Bolton's seven year RM230 million Islamic Medium Term Notes (IMTN) programme is guaranteed by Danajamin. RM150 million of sukuk have already been issued in three tranches and fully subscribed.
Danajamin Nasional Bhd has made a guarantee to Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd’s RM380mil 20-year Islamic medium-term notes programme.
Danajamin chief executive officer Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn stated that Senari was the first company in Sarawak to be given its financial guarantee.
Danajamin Nasional Bhd has given Antara Steel Mill Sdn Bhd’s RM300mil 7-year Islamic Securities guarantee, to assist Antara in obtaining long term financing via the sukuk market. AmBank is also participating in the transaction to provide short term working capital financing.
