Maisarah: Pioneers of Islamic priority banking services in the Sultanate

Maisarah, Islamic window of BankDhofar announced the launch of Oman's pioneering Sharia compliant priority banking services. Maisarah's teams of relationship managers are offering special products and personalised services. BankDhofar’s Islamic branch opening soon

According to an announcement by BankDhofar, its Maisarah Islamic banking branch in Azaiba is planned to be opened in the coming weeks. BankDhofar plans to launch 'Maisarah' Islamic banking services, according to the study that was carried out to ensure clients best in class Islamic banking experience. Maisarah Islamic banking services are subject to the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) approval.

BankDhofar EGM nod for Islamic Banking Window

BankDhofar intends a move to introduce sharia-compliant banking services. Therefore, they plan the launch of an Islamic Banking window. The approval for the move was given at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the bank's shareholders. Also, it was agreed upon the appointment of a Sharia Supervisory Board.

BankDhofar to launch Islamic Banking

BankDhofar has chosen Deloitte & Touche for a market assessment and feasibility study into the launching of an Islamic Window at the Bank. This study comes after the Royal Decree launched last year by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, which agrees with the establishment of Islamic Banking in the Sultanate.
BankDhofar is committed to the implementation of Islamic financial services and has already invested in some training programmes for its executives providing them with insights into planning and acquiring Islamic banking products and services. The bank has also chosen a new Head of Islamic Banking, to prepare the Bank to manage this new service through dedicated Islamic windows.
